Skin & Ink Magazine just published a feature story I wrote about tattoo portrait artist Shawn Barber. For those that don’t know, Shawn does portraits of tattoo artists and uses really surreal techniques to capture their limbs at different angles. He was a great guy to interview and I think he chatted with me for over two hours during two separate interviews. The August issue is on newsstands now.

As if the spread in last month’s Inked Magazine wasn’t cool enough, Savage Tattoo is running a bunch of my Dropkick Murphy’s photos to compliment a feature story by Scott McCool. Check out the April 2008 edition on sale now.

Wow, I can actually say that I’m in the same magazine as Slash. Check out the new issue of the recently relaunched Inked Magazine for a photo spread I shot at a recent gallery opening. I rarely get to see my work on glossy pages and was blown away by the color saturation in the photos. Kudos to the art director at Inked for making them look outstanding. This is the February 2008 edition, on news stands right now.

8020, the user-generated publishing company that put JPG Magazine on the map, has branched out and released a new rag devoted to travel. To separate itself from the hundreds of poorly written (and mostly advertorial) travel mags littering Borders, Everywhere offers readers the opportunity to submit their own stories and photos chronicling adventures and places off the beaten path.

As with Everywhere‘s sister publication, the hipster photo mag JPG, readers can submit anything they want to the magazine’s Web site and assign a photo or a story to a theme within an upcoming issue. Reader’s vote on the best work, and editors make the final selection, so pretty much all the content comes from both amateurs and professional writers and photographers. Read the rest of this entry »
