Wrestlemania might have come and gone, but I’m still shocked that I got the opportunity to photograph last week’s WWE press conference. I felt like paparazzi, fighting it out to get the best shot, but it was so worth it. For the record, the Big Show really is that gigantic and Triple H is an absolutely awesome guy when he isn’t power slamming someone.

What did you do for New Year’s Eve? I eschewed the usual parties and ball watching to check out the best show going down in NYC–Gogol Bordello. Led by the enigmatic and ultra-cool Eugene Hutz, Gogol Bordello are a gypsy punk group that perform every show as if it’s their last performance ever. High intensity barely begins to describe it. The singer flies around stage, passing the mic to the crowd or strumming wildly on his guitar. His fiddler is a bow-wielding maniac, and I won’t even get into the dancers and percussion team.
